There is the Ganges River. It is one of the most important river in Asia. It isn't becaus of it's economic value either. The Ganges is also impotant to Hindus. 80% of India's population is in Hindu. The Ganges drainage basin is 3x the size of France! 300-350 million people live in the basin. Remember there is only 300 million people in the U.S. In Hinduis, The Ganges River is worshipped as a Goddess. It is believed if you bathe in it you will wash away your sins. People also drink it and carry it in buckets. A lot of Hindu people keep the water in their home. They drink it if family members are near death. They go down the steps and pray and bathe. Ashes are also scattered there so they will go to heaven. It is very polluted also. Pestisides are dumped into the water. They will believe it will clean itself. The Feni River is a river in Bangladesh. Storm surges would flow up during cyclones.
